The judges in the Forever Saint Paul Challenge, a Minnesota Idea Open challenge presented by The Saint Paul Foundation, have weighed in, and the thirty semi-finalists have been narrowed down to three.
It’s now the public’s turn to vote on which idea will get $1 million to become a reality! Your chance to weigh in is open now through September 2. Have a closer look at the finalists:
- Food, Nature & Culture: Seeking to create a signature food hub and nature-themed event center in sections of the vacant 4-story building at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary.
- The Saint Paul Center for Creative Arts: A proposal for a group of youth studios located in close proximity that offer opportunities for Saint Paul youth, especially youth of color, to learn and practice arts and crafts at a very high level.
- The Saint Paul Art Train: A new creative space in recycled passenger rail cars that would act as a bridge between the 20th century light industrial economy and the 21st century creative enterprise economy.
There are three ways to vote: on the Forever Saint Paul website, by text message, and at select Saint Paul neighorhood locations and events. Winners will be announced on September 9. Head over to the site for more information.
A big congratulations to these three finalists!
