More than 100 Allianz volunteers taught JA in a Day during fall 2011. The initiative allows volunteers to teach all six lessons of Junior Achievement’s elementary school programs in an intensive and effective one-day effort.
MCF member Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has worked to improve financial literacy for almost 20 years.
But in 2010, the company’s Corporate Giving Program determined to make a greater impact by deepening its relationship and increasing its financial commitment and volunteer hours for two key nonprofit partners.
That year, Allianz committed $100,000 per year for three years to BestPrep and Junior Achievement. And because both organizations can accommodate large groups of volunteers, Allianz rallied its employees who have come out in great numbers to teach classes, serve as e-mentors and more.
Read about the ongoing partnership and why participation by Allianz senior leaders is seen as key to its success – it’s in the summer issue of Giving Forum on collaboration, which is in your inbox and online now.
